Glamour for Karma

On November 15th, the California Modern Art Gallery will host Glamour for Karma, a benefit for San Francisco’s Glide Foundation.

There will be paintings depicting glamour, fashion & famous faces (including San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and Reverend Cecil Williams) by artists Barbara Rose Brooker and Toby Tover-Krein.

Ducati motorcycles will be on display, as will fashion models styled by Ginger Rubio. A silent auction will feature all things ‘glamorous’, including a custom designed outfit by Bacca da Silva.

Elvis Costello and Clover (the Marin band that played with Costello on My Aim Is True in 1977) reunited for two sold-out shows at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall last week.

Proceeds from the concerts will go to the Richard deLone Special Housing Project for people who suffer from Prader-Willi Syndrome (an incurable, congenital disease that causes perpetual hunger, obesity, and decreased muscle tone & mental capacity).
